A Golf Course to 'Dye Fore'!

The latest of three golf courses in the Dominican Republic by the renowned golf course designer Pete Dye, and sited at the Casa de Campo resort. The Casa de Campo resort is one of the premier luxury Dominican vacation bases, close to the thriving town of La Romana.

The Dye Fore golf course also luxuriates in offering a long course approaching 8000 yards, with fairways that are wide enough for even some of the most badly sliced shots, at close on 200 feet.

At first glance the novice might find the aspect of the course overwhelming. Unique featuressuch as a 300 foot deep river gorge, views of the quaint artist-township of Altos de Chavon, imposing mountain scenery and the Caribbean Sea in the distance all serve to make the coursedistinctive.

Reviews of the golf course have been very favorable and players enjoy both the palyability and the uniqueness of the landscaping and the normally wonderful Dominican Republic weather.

Pete Dye's "Links" Golf Course in the Dominican Republic

Picture the scene -- the wonderful sun drenched Caribbean with the challenge of a firstclass golf course that features aspects commonly enjoyed in more Northerly climes, suchas England or Scotland, the very home of golf.

This exceptional course was constructed over 30 years ago under the expert eye of Pete Dyeand was his second development for the luxurious Casa de Campo holiday center, the firstclass Dominican Republic vacation resort based at La Romana.

This Dominican golf course offers numerous water challenges, setas it is in an area of lagoons and tall grasses, which are also inhabited by some of the many fascinanting species of birds found in the Dominican Republic. This makes the Links course an absoloute gem for ornithologists who also enjoy a serious round of golf -- orindeed golfers who are also keen bird watchers!

At just under 6500 yards this is the shortest of the three Pete Dye designed golf courses at casa de Campo, but it is no less of a challenge for that, with five of its testing holes based around those ball-swallowing lagoons!
